Here’s how the first day of the course works

An overview of the key steps, from registration to pickup.

Please stop by our ski school office briefly on the first day of the course. There, you’ll receive a bib and a registration card with your child’s name, skill level, and contact information. You’ll then be told where the meeting point is—Kinderland or the placement run.

  • Green kids (beginners) meet at the gathering point by the Quad and ride with our ski instructors to Kinderland.
  • Blue, red, and black groups start directly at the placement run below the meeting point.

As soon as your child is lined up there, their time at the ski school begins. Please help them put on their skis and say goodbye calmly—we’ll take it from here.

During the placement run, we assess each child’s skiing ability. Afterward, the children are divided into groups of up to eight participants and get to know their ski instructors.

Our ski instructors structure the lessons flexibly and ensure that every child feels comfortable in their group. If necessary, we make small adjustments—so that everyone receives optimal support and makes good progress.

Each group has its own group sign at the meeting point. After class, children are picked up there or escorted by us to lunch supervision.

If you pick up your child yourself, please return the vest—this helps us keep track of all the children.

At the end of the course, all children return to the group sign together with their ski instructors, say goodbye, and hand in their vests.

The skis can then be conveniently stored in the ski depot or taken home.

The Last Day of the Course – Schedule for the Children’s Ski Race

On Thursday, the group’s final race takes place—a special highlight of the week. To ensure everything runs smoothly, here is an overview of the most important steps.

The group start times are already set the day before. Please ask your child’s ski instructor for the exact time.

– Alternatively: Mizun or Sonnenjet chairlift

Accessible on foot:
Through the Mountainview building and across the grounds of the Optimal Ski School to the starting area.

The children start in groups at their respective start times.
After the race, the groups continue together with their regular ski lessons.

At 2:30 PM, the groups gather at their respective group signs. The award ceremony takes place in groups.

Every child receives a medal and a certificate—a proud conclusion to the ski course.

If your child is not scheduled to attend the regular ski lesson on race day, they are of course still welcome to participate in the race.

Please ask the respective ski instructor for the start time. After the race, your child will continue skiing with you. For the awards ceremony in the afternoon, the group will meet together at the group sign.
